SOUTHWARK

Through listening carefully to the needs of the existing business owner who was keen to stay on site, we were able to structure a deal which met the requirements of both the landowner and developer.  Acting on behalf of Fruition Properties as the selected developer, we secured the site on their behalf based on an air space development scheme.  This ensured that the business maintained its operational requirements and location within Bermondsey which was key to its heritage and staff retention.

The site comprised an existing light industrial warehouse with commercial office space above. The original building had been built with a view to vertical extension. Working with TP Bennett Architects a scheme was prepared and through a sequence of pre apps with London Borough Southwark development principles were established. Planning was obtained for nine flats which will be delivered with the business remaining operational below.
